Guwahati: The eastern leg of the ‘Unity Flame Run’, a subset relay from Dibrugarh to Agra, is being organized as part of the 75th anniversary of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and is being held in Dibrugarh. Flagged off from, entered Guwahati today.
Directorate General of National Cadet Corporation, New Delhi organized a nationwide ‘Unity Flame Run’ which started on 20 November 2022 at Kanyakumari. The ‘Unity Flame Run’ will conclude on January 13, 2023 in Agra.
The relay run was flagged off on 2 January 2023 from Dibrugarh.
The famous ‘Eastern Flame Run’ was flagged off by the two youngest cadets on January 3 at Narengi Military Station, Guwahati. The cadets carried the ‘Flame of Unity’ with great pride and the atmosphere echoed with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The spirit of national unity and patriotism. The ADG observed a cultural program which culminated in a dance retelling the heroic story of Mulla Baagru. The General Officer in his speech exhorted the cadets about the values embedded in the NCC ethos. ADG interacted with Principal, ANO, teachers and cadets participating in the programme.
The Eastern Flame Run was flagged off by Anand Mishra, IPS on the morning of January 4 from the 222 ABOD ground of Narengi Military Station. 30 Assam Bn NCC and 48 Naval Unit NCC cadets participated in the programme. Cadets from Royal Global School, SBOA Public School and Noonmati High School presented a high-level cultural program.
