Leopard Attack
Dibrugarh: Two women workers at Khowang Tea Estate in Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh were injured when a leopard attack them while they were working.
The injured have been identified as Asrita Kujur (26) and Anita Tirki (25) of Khowang Ti Estate.
Sources said that he has been admitted to T Garden Hospital in Moran.
“They were plucking tea leaves when a leopard that took shelter in the tea garden attacked them,” said a resident.
Leopard attacks on tea workers were common in tea plantation areas as they are close to forest areas.
As soon as the incident was reported, the forest department reached the spot and the local residents appealed to them to install a cage to trap the animal.
