GUWAHATI: Residents of Guwahati can get some relief as the South Central Guwahati Water Project is expected to partially start on Wednesday.
The project is expected to cover about 13,000 households in Guwahati East.
According to reports, the project is expected to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The project is funded by JICA.
Although the project is only partial, once fully operational, it will cover over 2 lakh population of Guwahati East Assembly Constituency. It will also cover parts of Despur Assembly Constituency.
The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) was supposed to start the project long ago.
