Assam Rifles seized smuggled areca nuts worth of 58 Lakh

Aizawl: Assam Rifles personnel and customs officials seized 103 bags of smuggled nuts worth Rs.2000. 57.68 lakh in Champhai district near the Myanmar border on Sunday, Assam Rifles sources said.

Sources said that the operation was carried out in Hmunhmeltha area based on specific information.
Shipment worth Rs.57.68 lakh was handed over to the Customs Department for further legal action.
