Assam Rifles & Mizoram Police seize huge cache of explosives

Aizawl: In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and Mizoram police seized a large quantity of explosives and arrested two persons in Sehwa district on the Indo-Myanmar border, paramilitary forces said in a statement on Monday.

 

It said the operation was carried out in Ainak village on the basis of specific information.

The joint operation team intercepted two vehicles on Sunday and seized a large cache of war-like shops and explosives, the statement said.

 

It said two people, who were carrying war-like shops, had been arrested.

 

The seized items included Belox-10 explosives (124.2 kg), granular explosives (121.5 kg), gunpowder explosives (49.9 kg), 3,950 detonators, 120 Lellier & Belliot 30-06 tablets, 100 Lellier & Includes B2020Net, B2020Net, 3950 detonators. codex meters, and the 106 TAC shotgun ammunition belt, he said.

 

It said two vehicles used to transport explosives and war-like items had been seized and the two suspects had been handed over to state police.

 

A statement from the Assam Rifles also said that initial inquiries had revealed that the vehicles had been rented by a Myanmar national for the medical evacuation of Chen National Army (CNA) cadres.
