Assam reports one new COVID-19 case after gap of two days, tally at 7,24,171
A new COVID-19 case was reported in Assam on Saturday, bringing the total to 7,24,171, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.
The latest infection was recorded after a two-day break, as no corona virus cases were reported in the northeastern state on Thursday and Friday.
Tests of 1,376 samples performed during the day revealed a new case.
The bulletin put the death toll at 6,639 because no new deaths had been reported from the infection.
It said 1,347 crore patients had died due to other causes.
During the day, three patients recovered, bringing the total number of those who recovered to 7,16,166.
The coronavirus patients’ recovery rate was 98.89%.
The bulletin states that there are now 19 active cases in Assam.
It added that more than 4.36 crore people have been vaccinated.
