Guwahati: Assam recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases, the highest since March 1.

Assam’s COVID-19 number rose to 7,24,267 on Tuesday as 10 more people tested positive for the infection, the highest one-day increase since March 1, a health bulletin said.

A daily positive rate of 2.31% was recorded as 432 samples were tested for infection.
The state had registered 12 cases against testing of 2,479 samples on March 1 this year.

He said eight fresh cases were reported in Kamrup district, and one case was reported in Bongaigaon and Kamrup metropolitan districts.

There are now 33 active cases in the state, while 7,16,246 people have so far recovered from the disease.
The overall positive rate was 2.55% as 2.83 million samples have been tested for the infection to date.

It added that a total of 2.44 crore people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 2.10 crore have been fully vaccinated, and 5.66 lakh have been given booster dose so far.
