BOKO: Three robbers allegedly looted Rs 6 lakh from a grocery shop in Rajpara, Boko on Tuesday evening and injured three persons and an Assam Police commando while trying to escape.
On receiving information about the robbery, a police team, led by Phanindra Chaudhry. Nath, OC Boko PS reached the spot and started a search operation in Rajapara area along with local people.
They manage to capture a bandit named Dorsing Basumatary. However, during his arrest, Basumatary opened fire, injuring Ashraful Alam, a commando of the Assam Police. After his capture, Basumatary was brutally beaten by the locals.
The police admitted the injured to Boko Primary Hospital, but in view of the serious condition of the police personnel, two including the arrested accused Dorsing Basumatary were referred to GMCH. Basumatary died while being taken to GMCH. Later, the police arrested another robber, Ramin Basumatary.
