Newly formed militant outfit
Guwahati: Newly formed militant outfit that came into existence less than a month ago has been neutralised by the Assam Police by arresting all its members.
Police identified the outfit as Dimasa National Liberation Tigers (DNLT).
It was reported that this organization was formed on September 13 last month.
It was establishing bases at Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Reports further stated that the outfit was a splinter faction of several militant outfits with bases in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts.
After the arrest of all the members, Special Director General of Police, GP Singh said, “The militant outfit DNLT was launched on September 13 in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts. State police arrested and recovered all seven leaders or cadres. neutralised with arms and explosives.”
Further investigation is underway.
