Assam minister says state is ready to deal with flood situation
Assam Minister Jogen Mohan has claimed that the state government is ready to deal with the annual floods that wreak havoc in Assam every year.
Assam Minister Jogen Mohan said that the state government has directed the deputy commissioners of all the districts of the state to make arrangements to deal with any situation arising out of the annual floods in Assam.
“We are fully prepared to deal with any flood situation in the state and have directed all the deputy commissioners to make all arrangements,” Assam Minister Jogen Mohan was quoted as saying by ANI.
Mohan added that the Assam government has released funds to all districts to deal with the floods.
The Minister further said that Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has already taken steps to deal with the floods in the state.
He said that ASDMA has held a series of meetings with the district administrations of Assam on this issue.
We have also identified the weak areas and asked the NDRF and SDRF to be vigilant, “said Assam Minister Jogen Mohan.
