SILCHAR: Assam Freedom Fighters trying to expand bases in Northeast. Several known Freedom Fighters organizations are trying to establish themselves and expand their bases in Northeast India.
This major statement was made by Director General of Assam Police – Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Thursday.
This statement by Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta comes after the recent bust of terror modules in different parts of Assam in the last two days.
Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, “Freedom fighters are trying to expand their base in the northeast.
The DGP of Assam added: “These Freedom Fighters, including Al-Qaeda, are now publishing their mouth-papers in Bangla with the aim of targeting the youth in Assam.”
“This is a very dangerous situation,” Mahanta said.
However, a top Assam police official said that “the youth of Assam have so far been able to distance themselves from such propaganda”.
Notably, the Assam Police has busted several terror modules operating in the state in the last few days.
According to the Assam Police, these freedom fighters modules had links with the Bangladesh-based radical organization Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
On Thursday, the Assam Police busted a Assam Freedom fighters in Barpeta district.
