Assam: ‘Fearless’ lady police officer Janmoni Rabha faces corruption charges, likely to be arrested soon
Assam’s ‘fearless’ policewoman Junmoni Rabha is likely to be arrested soon.
Junmoni Rabha, who is currently serving as a sub-inspector under the Assam Police, is likely to be arrested on corruption charges.
Janmoni Rabha is currently stationed at Kaliabor police station in Nagun district of Assam.
According to reports, seven FIRs were registered against Junmoni Rabha in a police station in Majuli district alleging corruption.
The charges include three non-bailable charges.
Sub-Inspector Junmoni Rabha became popular in Assam when she made headlines twice this year.
Recently, he arrested his fiance on fraud charges.
Earlier, in January this year, Janmoni Rabha’s telephone conversation with Bihpuria MLA Umayya Kumar Bhuvan was leaked on social media.
Bihpuria MLA Umayya Kumar Bhuvan had made a ‘demand’ to Junmoni Rabha, who was then serving as SI in Assam’s Majuli district, in connection with the seizure of a boat belonging to a missing tribe. I shirk my responsibilities.
In a telephone conversation, Junmoni Rabha was clearly heard refusing to bow to the pressure of the Assam MLA.
He even asked the Assam MLA how he, being a representative of the people, asked the police to break the rules and regulations.
