Guwahati: Police in Assam have arrested a total of 120 government officials for Assam corupption since 2017.

According to the Assam Police, in the last six years, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has arrested 120 government employees on charges of corruption.
Moreover, 10 brokers were also arrested while accepting bribes in various government offices of Assam.

Special DGP of Assam – GP Singh said that 107 cases of corruption have also been registered between the period from 2017 to October this year.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption took action and arrested 50 people, including 48 government employees, for taking bribes.

“Eleven government employees were arrested in 2017, 22 people including 19 government employees were arrested in 2018, 16 people including 13 government employees were arrested in 2019, 18 people including 16 government employees were arrested in 2020, 13 government employees were arrested in 2021,” said Assam Special DGP G P Singh.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in Assam has so far arrested several government officials in connection with corruption cases.
