
Bajali: Assam: Chain snatchers on a bike robbed a woman of Rs 2 lakh. Two bike-borne men on Tuesday extorted Rs 2 lakh from a woman near Bhattadev University in Pathshala.
The robbed woman has been identified as Anjali Choudhury of Kumarpara village in Bijli district.
Locals said that the woman had withdrawn money from the Union Bank of India and came out.
As she was walking towards her home with money in her bag, the motorcyclists stopped right next to her and snatched the bag and disappeared into thin air.
Although the bystanders tried to stop the bikers, they could not stop as the bikers were very fast in their movement. The incident has been reported to the police and action is being taken.
Several such incidents have taken place in Bijli during the last few days.
Due to the increase in such crimes like chain snatchers on bike , people are now demanding police to increase vigilance and patrolling in the areas.
