Guwahati: Assam Boy wins MRF National Rally Championship in 400cc category. Nagan’s Hansraj Saikia has raised the head of Assam with pride by winning the MRF MOGRIP FMSCI National Rally Championship.

He won first place in the 400cc category. He competed in the KTM Duke 390 Championship of his choice. The National Rally Championship was held on May 21 and 22 in Mangalore.
“The last two rounds of the National Rally Championship were held in Chikmangalur and Mangalore and it was quite challenging for me as I was the only competitor from Northeast India,” said Saikia.

“Motorsport has taught me a lot in life,” he added.

Talking about the rally, Saikia said, “The national level Rally Championship consists of 8 to 10 stages where your best times are calculated at each stage. Each stage is about 9.5 km to 12.5. Km and the total rally is about 150 km to 160 km.
“The first round of the championship was held in Chikmanglur, also known as the Coffee Land of India. I finished the first round in 4th place with a time of 1:08:17 seconds,” said Saikia.

“In the second round in Mangalore, I finished first in the 400cc category with a time of 1:11:51 seconds. With that, I became the champion for the first time from Assam as well as North East. Shining Psyche shared.
