Boat capsizes in Dhubri

Guwahati: Boat capsizes in Dhubrim, Another boat capsize has been reported from Assam’s Dhubri district with more than seven people missing.

According to initial reports, seven people including a circle officer have gone missing in this incident on the Brahmaputra river.

About 25 people were on board the boat as part of a team of officials who had gone out to inspect the erosion near the under-construction bridge.
The boat overturned near the Dhubri-Phulbari bridge when it reportedly hit something.

While some managed to swim ashore safely, a team of SDRF, NDRF and BSF rescued others but seven are still missing.
One of the missing persons has been identified as Circle Officer Sanju Das.

Operation is going on to save them.

No casualty has been reported in the incident.
