Assam and Arunachal artistes enthral audience at NHPC event at Subansiri Lower Project

GUWAHATI: Folk artistes from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh enthralled the audience at the Subansiri Lower Project site in Gerukamukh during the 48th Foundation Day celebrations of NHPC.

A cultural team from Bordoloni, a village around the project presented a beautiful Bihu dance while women from Kolaptukar village mesmerized the audience with their Galo folk dance. The performance was highly appreciated by all the guests and other audience members, NHPC said in a statement.
Earlier, the 48th NHPC Foundation Day celebrations at Subansiri Lower HE Project began with the inauguration of fete and food stalls by Project Executive Director Shri Vipin Gupta in the presence of NHPC Ladies Club President Seema Gupta and other senior officers of the Corporation, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Project Executive Director Vipin Gupta congratulated all the employees, their family members and all the people associated with the project.
He appealed to all people to extend their support so that this prestigious project can be launched as per schedule.

This year’s celebration at the Subansiri Lower HE project is of particular significance due to the fact that the project was recently awarded the Best Rated Construction Project 2021-22 and its team of Union Power and New & Renewable He has also been honored with the Exemplary Commitment Award.
The celebration witnessed performances by employees and their family members, school children as well as a professional musical and cultural troupe from Dibrugarh.

The program was attended by guests of all major work contractors engaged in the project, guests of CISF Unit, Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Vivekanada Kendra Vidyalaya as well as other residents of the project township.
