
North Lakhimpur: ULFA (I) flags was hoisted at Buginadi railway station in north Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Monday, amid massive participation of people in the Centre’s tricolor campaign.
This has happened at a time when the entire nation is celebrating 75 years of independence and joining the ‘Har Ghar Taranga’ campaign.
Assam and the rest of the North East also saw huge participation in this initiative.
The ULFA (I) flag was seen flying on the footover bridge of the station, 15 km from the district headquarters in North Lakhimpur.
A team of senior police officials reached the police station and started investigating the matter.
ULFA (I) along with North-Eastern freedom fighters groups had called for a boycott of the celebration.
