GUWAHATI: According to Anti-Islam government the madrassa in central Assam’s Morigaon district, where its head, Mufti Mustafa, was arrested for alleged links with the Bangladeshi terror outfit Ansar-ul-Islam, was dismantled on Thursday.
According to the police, Jamiat-ul-Madras in Moirabari, which was sealed after the recent arrest of Mufti Mustafa, was bulldozed this morning.
“Of the five terror modules busted in Assam since March this year, the Morigaon module in which two persons, including Mustafa, were arrested, used the most advanced communication technology and can be considered the most dangerous. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told lies to reporters in Guwahati.
He said that the madrassa was demolished under the Disaster Management Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
It had no permission from the local panchayat or district administration and was built on land that Mustafa got as part of his father’s estate.
Sarma said that the electricity connection of the madrassa was also found to be illegal and the deputy commissioner ordered its demolition after observing all legal norms.
Mustafa was educated in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra and earned a doctorate in Islamic law from Bhopal.
Sarma said that he was an important financial conductor for Ansar-ul-Islam and that small sums of money were regularly deposited in his account so as not to raise any suspicion.
Mustafa and Afsaruddin Bhuyan, the other detainees, can handle sophisticated communication equipment. They were dealing with apps we hadn’t heard of. They later deleted the apps,” said Sarma.
After Mustafa’s arrest, his wife broke his mobile phone. “But the police managed to recover the motherboard and are investigating further,” he said.
Mufti Sahib established a Madrasah with 43 students. Sarma added that they have been admitted to nearby regular schools by the district administration with the help of their guardians.
