Assam: A huge fire broke out in BCPL in Dibrugarh.

Guwahati: A huge fire broke out at Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) in Lepetkata of Dibrugarh in Upper Assam on Monday morning.

According to initial reports, the fire broke out in the liner low density polythene (LLDPE) unit of BCPL.

The fire started at around 1.30 pm last night and lasted for more than an hour.
Several BCPL fire tenders were used to contain the blaze in less than two hours.

Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt due to the fire. However, no casualties or damage were reported.

The fire officer said that the cause of the fire may have been a short circuit but the real cause will be known after investigation.
