Guwahati: Assam: 4 lakh individuals still in trouble even as flood circumstance moves along,The flood situation in Assam improved on Sunday, though floods in four districts affected about 4.02 lakh people, an official bulletin said.

According to a report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 4,01,800 people have been affected by the floods in Kechhar, Dima Hasao, Morigaon and Nagaon districts.
Nagoons were the hardest hit, with more than 2.91 million people in distress, followed by Cachar(over 68,500 people) and Morigaon (approximately 41,000 people).

As of Saturday, the floods had affected more than 4.49 lakh people in four districts of the state.

The total number of people killed in floods and landslides this year is 32.

ASDMA said that 596 villages are currently under water and 25,860 hectares of crop area in Assam has been damaged.

It said authorities were running 106 relief camps and distribution centers in four districts, sheltering 31,645 people, including 6,919 children.
