Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh police have recovered four “kidnapped” girls from a lodge in Guwahati, police officials said on Monday.
According to police, a team of Arunachal Pradesh Police along with Assam Police officers rescued the minors from a lodge in Guwahati on Sunday.
Police have also arrested a woman for her alleged involvement in the incident, an official said.
On September 8, Deon police station in Changlong district received a complaint about the kidnapped of four girls from Manabham area.
Based on the complaint, the Arunachal Pradesh police started an investigation and traced the location of the girls, officials said.
He said that Changlang SP Meehan Gambo cooperated with Assam Police DIGP Prasanta Changmai and Dispur DCP Sidhakar Singh till date about the whereabouts of the missing minors.
After completing legal procedures and necessary counselling, the rescued girls were handed over to their guardians by the Child Welfare Committee of Changlong, the police official said.
