Silchar: At least 14 students of a dental college in south Assam’s Silchar have been expelled from the hostel for their alleged involvement in ragging.
After a complaint filed by a few first year students against some seniors of the dental college, the students were rustled.
He alleged that senior students were being harassed mentally and physically.
As a result, their academic performance in college suffers as they are unable to concentrate on their studies.
Manjula Das, principal of the dental college, said the matter was brought to the notice of the institution’s anti-ragging committee.
The committee conducted a separate inquiry into the matter with the district administration officials and found the accused students guilty.
After which the college authority has stopped the accused students from staying in the hostel by taking disciplinary action.
However, he was allowed to continue his course.
