Aspirants frustrated by govt’s delay on age relaxation demand

In a statement, the group expressed frustration over the government’s delay, citing the prolonged wait as a source of emotional and psychological distress for many aspirants. “We are perplexed by the government’s laxity in responding to our genuine demand, which is causing unnecessary hardship,” the group stated.

The aspirants argued that the current age limit policies restrict their access to public employment, which they believe infringes upon their rights under Article 16 of the Indian Constitution. They sought what they described as a “fair and equal chance” for all aspiring candidates in the state.

The group’s demand has garnered support from several prominent student bodies, including the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN), Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA), Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Chakesang Students’ Union (CSU), Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZLSU), Konyak Students’ Union Kohima (KSUK), and the Pochury Students’ Union (PSU).

With the deadline for the Nagaland Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (NPSC CSE) 2024 on October 9 approaching and another recruitment notification from the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) expected soon, the group called on the government to prioritize their request and reach a resolution at the earliest.

The Concerned Aspirants Group emphasized that prompt government action on this issue is crucial to ensure fairness and to avoid further distress among the state’s job-seeking youth.
