Arunachal soldier saved a boy from drowning in Tawang

Itanagar: A six-year-old boy was rescued from drowning by a soldier in the Sangetsar lake in Tawang district on January 28 last, an army official said.

Tezpur-based Defense PRO Colonel AS Ahluwalia said Havildar Leki Passing of the Arunachal Scouts Battalion saved the boy from drowning when he slipped into the ice-covered lake.
According to eyewitnesses, the boy was having a picnic with his parents when he slipped away from his parents and fell into the lake.
Passing recklessly crawled 25 meters across the slate to pull the boy out of the bone-chilling water, the official said.

Colonel Ahluwalia said that the soldier was on leave when the incident took place.
