Arunachal Pradesh Governor meets Assam counterpar

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brigadier (retd) BD Mishra met his Assam counterpart Professor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan here on Friday during which he discussed issues related to strengthening goodwill among the people of neighboring states. Discussed
During the meeting, Governor Mishra expressed his hope that the border issues would be resolved amicably in the near future if both the Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam acted seriously.
He said that this would strengthen the old friendship between the people.
The governor also expressed concern about Arunachalee students stranded in Ukraine. He hoped that since the top leadership of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working round the clock for his evacuation, he would reach home safely.
The governors also discussed various ways in which the people of both Arunachal Pradesh and Assam could work together for their mutual benefit.
He suggested more cultural and educational exchange programs for the youth of the states to promote the cultural richness of the region.
He also expressed his views on the protection of natural environment, flora and fauna and archeological assets and called for speeding up the implementation of development projects.
