Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister wants all pending pensions to be cleared by May 31.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna on Monday directed all heads of government departments (HoDs) to dispose of pending pension cases of their respective departments by next May 31.
“Retired government employees who have been serving the state for more than 30 years should not face any difficulty in posting for their pensions. Such conditions lead to financial difficulties, especially in Group C and D posts. For those of you who come, “said Mann.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a meeting on retirement at the Civil Secretariat here.
Accordingly, he directed the departmental heads to take up the pension cases on priority basis and clear them all without any delay.
HoDs were also asked to open pension cells in their respective departments and to have a dedicated and experienced staff to deal with pension matters in particular.
The Deputy CM directed the HODs to notify the Directorate of Audit and Pensions of the nodal officers within 15 days and ensure that all government employees verify their service books within this month.
The department heads were also asked to hold monthly review meetings on pension cases.
Earlier, Ronya , director of audit and pension, said that a total of 398 pension cases were pending in the department.
He said that the main reasons for delay in approval of pension were non-submission of complete pension papers by the departments, wrong determination of pay scale as per promotion, increase in salaries and increment etc.
Ronya asked HoDs to choose an initial pay statement (IPS) check at regular intervals and to clear all documents related to their employees’ pensions at least 4-6 months before their retirement.
