Itanagar/Dibrugarh:Arunachal Pradesh: Cloudburst in Tirap led to disaster. Floods triggered by a massive cloudburst have left a trail of destruction in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tarap district.
Due to cloudburst floods, roads have been cut off from several villages under Arunachal Pradesh’s Tarap district.
Deomali and Namsang in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tarap district are reported to be the worst affected.
The low-lying areas of Arunachal Pradesh’s Tarap district have been completely inundated by floodwaters.
Government Upper Primary School in KVK, Deomali and Noksan and Butte areas are under flood water.
In Arunachal Pradesh’s Tarap district, tea plantations and fishponds have flooded, causing heavy losses to farmers.
However, no loss of life or property has been reported due to the flood caused by the cloudburst.
Meanwhile, the flood water has started receding since Sunday evening.
Officials have advised people in the affected areas to be alert.
Deputy Commissioner of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh – Taru Mize said: “Deomali and its neighboring villages were affected due to cloudburst. Recovery work is on. SDRF, PWD and Water Resources Department are involved in recovery as well as rescue operations. I am working.
“Right now, we cannot assess the losses and damages. The Deomali ADC is taking care of the losses and damages caused by the floods.
