Dibrugarh: Arunachal Pradesh’s troubled Tirap, Changlong and Longding (TCL) districts have been plagued by the menace of drugs for the past few years.
There is a growing concern among the local people of the region to rid their society of this scourge.
Sticking to the motto “Friends of the Hill People”, the Assam Rifles battalions deployed in the TCL region have collectively embarked on a grand mission to create awareness among the local population and youth against drug abuse.
Assam Rifles together with two motorcycle clubs of the Wancho tribe; Namely, ‘Roaring Rangers’ and ‘Head Hunters’ is organizing a three-day motorcycle rally that will start from Kanubari to Pongsau Pass.
Motorcyclists will travel along with Assam Rifle Bikers from 30th July to 01st August 2022 via Longding, Khonsa, Changlang and Jairampur.
The event was inaugurated by MLA Gabriel D. Wangso of Kannobri on July 30 in the presence of heads of civil administration, police and civil society organizations.
During their journey, the riders will promote Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav among the residents of TCL area.
