Arunachal: Man abducted by NSCN(IM) saved in Changlang

Changlang: Indian Army’s 18 Garhwal Rifles along with Arunachal Pradesh and Assam Police on Saturday rescued a man who was abducted by two alleged members of Nagaland’s National Socialist Council, or NSCN (IM) ‘s Isak-Muivah faction. ۔

Changlang Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo said a missing person’s complaint was lodged at the Namtok police station near here on Saturday, after which 18 Garhwal Rifles and Assam Police were called in to search for the missing person in their respective areas. Information shared.

The SP said that a report was received later in the afternoon that the missing person had been traced and had been allegedly abducted by two minor members of NSCN-IM.

On the same occasion, a joint operation was launched in Phangsam village of Namtok Circle from where the abductee was rescued.

“As a result of the tireless and intensive efforts of the security forces and the Changlang and Assam police, the abducted man was rescued on time.” said SP Gambo.
