Itanagar: Police in Arunachal Pradesh rescued a senior forest department official within hours of being kidnapped.
This incident has been reported from West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Notably, Bittem Darrang, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Rupa Forest Division, was abducted by four persons on Monday, Arunachal Pradesh Police reported on Tuesday.
Arunachal Pradesh’s West Coming district SP – Bharat Reddy said that all those involved in the abduction of the DFO have been arrested.
He said that the DFO was rescued with the help of the East Coming Police.
The four persons arrested by the Arunachal Pradesh Police have been identified as Michael Tajo (33), Joy Flego (29), Monuruddin Ali (33) and Cecilia Takam Tajo (35).
The DFO was rescued from the four accused at the Bana check gate in Arunachal Pradesh.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motive behind the kidnapping of the DFO was to extort contracts from them.
