Indian & Chinese Troops Clash in Arunachal
Tinsukia: There have been reports of a fresh encounter between Indian and Chinese troops near Yangtse in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh, resulting in injuries to soldiers from both sides.
Sources said the encounter took place on December 9 at Yangtse in Tawang sector when Chinese PLA personnel tried to enter Indian territory.
At least six injured Indian Army personnel were brought to Basitha Hospital in Guwahati for treatment.
Later, the face-to-face issue was resolved after talks between the commanders of the two sides as per the agreed protocol.
“On December 9, 2022, PLA troops engaged the LAC in Tawang sector which was strongly and resolutely countered by its own troops. The encounter resulted in minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides. ,” a defense PRO said in a statement.
“Both sides immediately withdrew from the area,” the official added.Along the LAC in Tawang sector in Arunachal Pradesh, in some areas, there are areas of different perception, where both sides patrol the area up to their line of claim. This has been a trend since 2006, the statement added.
He added that as a follow-up to the incident, his own commander in the area held a flag meeting with his counterpart to discuss the issue as per systematic procedures to restore peace and order.
Earlier in October 2021, the armies of the two countries engaged in a brief face-off in the same area in the Tawang sector of the Indian border state.
The clash took place when around 100 Chinese army personnel tried to enter Indian territory but were forcefully sent back.
According to sources, in some areas along the LAC in the Tawang sector of the border state of Arunachal Pradesh, which became the scene of the Indo-China war in 1962, there are zones of different concepts, and both sides patrol the area. their claim.
“Of late, China has sent a huge patrol, changing the pattern,” the source added.
India and China share a 3,488 km long border from Arunachal Pradesh in the eastern sector to Ladakh in the northern sector.
