Expressing concern over law and order issues in the TCL belt, the governor also called for strengthening intelligence and introducing more welfare measures for militancy-affected areas and their populations.
“Peace is a prerequisite for development. Therefore, it is the duty of every individual to play his part in promoting a sense of security among the people,” Mishra said. Appealed for cooperation
The governor was talking to a group of Gao Bora (village chiefs) from Longding District who had met him here at Raj Bhavan . Home Minister Bamang Felix was also present.
During the talks, the governor gave the villagers three points – first, they are now a constitutionally recognized Wancho tribe and should not fall into the trap of other tribes. Second, they must prevent their youth from joining underground organizations, and third, they must bring their youth back into the mainstream from underground organizations.
The Governor said that as the lower level representatives of the government, the villagers should be aware of the flagship programs of the state and central governments.
“You have to make sure that the people of the village get the most out of the related projects and schemes,” he said.
