Arunachal: Crowdfunding Campaign for Sanitary Napkins at DNGC
Itanagar: The women’s cell of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) on Wednesday organized a crowdfunding campaign for sanitary napkins on the college’s orchid lawn here.

A large number of faculty members, non-teaching staff and students participated in the campaign and extended their support and cooperation for this purpose.
Speaking at the event, Geyir Ete, convener of the Women’s Cell, said that menstruation should not be seen as taboo but as a positive sign towards the development of the human race.
He said that the purpose behind this campaign was to spread awareness and remove the stigma of menstruation.
Ette also highlighted how the funds raised would be used to benefit more than 1,800 college students.
“In case of emergency, female students can approach the women’s cell for pads, undergarments and wrappers / skirts,” she said.
Dr. Khan appreciated the initiative of the Women’s Cell.
He said that it was high time that the issue of menstruation should be brought to normal and it should not be considered inappropriate to talk about it.
In addition to faculty members from various disciplines, Dr. Taro Sindik of the Hindi Department and Goli Nyodu, an assistant professor of English, conducted the entire program and encouraged everyone to donate to raise funds.
