Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday called on state Governor Lt Gen (retd) Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik at the Raj Bhavan here and discussed important issues affecting key sectors of the state.
This is Lt Gen Parnaik’s first official meeting with the Chief Minister after taking over as the Governor of the state.
The governor shared his observations and expectations about the development work in the state and expressed confidence that the government would work to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
Lt Gen Parnaik, who recently met the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Home Minister in the national capital, also spoke about Khandu’s interactions with dignitaries.
Earlier, the Chief Minister apprised the Governor about the state affairs, policies, programs and initiatives of the state government apart from various development projects going on in different parts of the state.
He also briefed them about the schemes and programs proposed in the upcoming budget to be presented in the Assembly from March 6.
Along with Atul Chandrakant Kulkarni, chairman of the Amazing Namaste Foundation, Khandu also handed over the Guinness World Record certificate to the governor during the meeting.
The Guinness World Record for the largest collection of helmets was achieved, where a total of 2,350 helmets were used to create the phrase ‘Jai Hind’ at the Gyalwa TsangyangGyatso high-altitude stadium in Tawang on 20 November last year.
