Imphal: The Manipur Police has named the self-proclaimed commander-in-chief of the Kuki Independent Army/Kuki Independent Organization (KIA/KIO) as the “most wanted” criminal in the state.
The militant leader has been identified as Thangkhongam Haokip alias Davidson alias Pareng Kom.
A cash reward of Rs 50,000 was also announced for information about his arrest or death.
According to reports, Haokip hails from Matijang Khopi village in Churachandpur district of Manipur, bordering Myanmar.
He is often accused of involvement in kidnapping for ransom/extortion and bomb blasts.
He is wanted in connection with two FIR cases registered in Churachandpur police station and eight other cases in other police stations of Churachandpur district.
The police have also released the photograph of the accused along with the contact numbers of the informers.
The identity of the informant will be kept confidential, police said.
