Kohima: One person was injured during a shooting incident near Hotel City Inn, NST Colony at around 7:00 pm on July 18. The victim, who was reportedly an employee of Ankit Transport located at NST Colony, was shot on the leg by armed miscreants. Police informed that an FIR has been filed in this regard and that investigation is on.
Meanwhile, the Joint Council Forum (JCF) of Churches Colony, NST Colony and Middle Point condemned the incident and said that “this senseless and cowardly act is a stark reminder of the violence and lawlessness that continues to plague our society.” “We condemn this heinous crime in the strongest possible terms and demand that the authorities take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” it added.
The JCF observed that at a time when the entire Naga community is united in its quest for peace, reconciliation, and development, such incidents only serve to perpetuate fear, insecurity, and uncertainty among citizens. “We cannot and will not tolerate such senseless violence in our jurisdiction. We stand united in our resolve to create a safe and peaceful environment for all, where citizens can live without fear of violence or harm,” it stated.
The JCF urged authorities to launch a thorough investigation into this incident and ensure that the miscreants are brought to justice. It further appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
