Any form of Peace talks with CM Biren Singh rejected by ITLF

Imphal: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) said on Monday that the organization rejects any offer of dialogue with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and his administration while urging all Kuki-Zo CSOs not to go against the interests of the ITLF, It warns.
A release issued by Ginza Vualzong of ITLF Media Publicity said that the Chief Minister’s intention to reach out to stakeholders after a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah came too late.
“After the loss of so many innocent lives and property and the untold hardships faced by Kuki-Zo tribals, there is no point in talking about peace without a political solution,” it added.
“About 106 tribal people have been killed, 201 villages have been burnt, over 5,000 houses have been burnt and 355 churches have been destroyed, while 41,425 have been displaced by the tribal conflict. We have reached a point where Where the Koki-Zo community can no longer coexist with the Meiteis.
ITLF blamed CM Biren Singh for perpetrating the current crisis, alleging that he could not be a proponent of peace. The ITLF has held discussions with various dignitaries, including the Union Home Minister, where the Kuki-zo tribals and their 10 MLAs and CSOs have voiced their demands, including their political desire for complete secession from Manipur.
The ITLF urged the Government of India to resolve its political demand at the earliest to bring lasting peace in Manipur. He urged the CSOs and tribal leaders of the Kuki-zo community to maintain unity and refrain from engaging in any dialogue with the Chief Minister and his administration, warning of strict measures.
