Amrit Pal Singh hunger strike in Dibrugarh jail denied by police

Assam: Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu and SP Showanik Mishra visited Dibrugarh Central Jail today after a report on the hunger strike of Heir Punjab D Chief Amrit Pal Singh in Dibrugarh Central Jail came out on June 30. After visiting the jail, the Deputy Commissioner denied reports of any hunger strike.
Amritpal Singh’s wife Kirandeep Kaur claimed that Amritpal Singh and his colleagues were on a hunger strike against “deplorable facilities in the jail” and she was informed about their protest during her weekly visit to meet Amritpal yesterday. I found out.
She claimed that NSA detainees were not allowed to make phone calls and were being served unhealthy food.

Karindeep Kaur complained that the person in charge of cooking uses tobacco. This is against Sikh rehat maryada (religious practice).
Talking to the media, Dibrugarh DC, Pegu said that the detained persons will be allowed to make a phone call once a week. There is no hunger strike inside the prison. Food charges have already been taken care of.
