Ammunition seized in Assam’s Karbi Anglang
Diphu: Ammunition seized in Assam’s Karbi Anglang district, police said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Saikia said the weapons and ammunition were buried inside a forest elephant camp near the Diphu-Dhanseri road.
The information was processed and recovered. He said the confiscated items included two hand grenades, 69 live ammunition and one magazine of AK-47 rifle, 12 SLRs and two pistol magazines.
Police said the ammunition is suspected to have been buried by the militant outfit Dimasa National Liberation Tribe (DNLT) about four months ago.
He said that the search is on to nab the militants.
