Manipur: On May 12, internet services in the state have been cut off once again amid tension in the state.
Further, this order is issued to prevent any disturbance of law and order within the jurisdiction of the State of Manipur and it shall be effective for a further period of 5 (five) days immediately after the suspension order comes into effect the action will continue.
In a notification, the state government said that the Director General of Police, Manipur has reported that there have been reports of incidents such as fighting between volunteers/youths from large communities living in the state along with burning of houses and premises.
It is further feared that some anti-social elements may use social media extensively to spread inflammatory images, hateful speeches and hateful video messages, thereby disrupting law and order in the state can have serious effects on the situation.
