Agartala: The Tripura government has decided to extend the closure of all government and private schools for three more days due to the severe heat wave.
According to a memorandum issued by the state education department, citing the ongoing heat wave across the region, the closure will now be from April 29 to May 1, 2024.
All Government and Government-Aided institutions under the Education (School) Department, Govt. of Tripura, along with schools under TTAADC and Privately Managed Schools, will adhere to this directive.
District Education Officers have been tasked with disseminating this decision to all schools under their jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department in Agartala has issued an alert for hot and humid conditions across the state for the next three days.
The temperature soared to 37.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, indicating the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions, accompanied by thundershowers and gusty winds.
