Amid Bihu Event Two Youths Stabbed in Guwahati

Assam: Two youths were brutally stabbed to death in Guwahati’s Maligaon on Saturday night amid a bihu event in the city.

The deceased have been identified as Simanta Talukdar (18) and Rohit Kumar Gami (22).
According to sources, both Simanta and Rohit were stabbed to death after a fight broke out between them and a group of youths outside the Maligaon stadium where singer Vreegu Kashyap was performing live.

Both the victims were immediately rushed to Pandu FRU for initial treatment, but the doctors referred them to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.
Unfortunately, Gami passed away during treatment.

Meanwhile, Simanta was kept under medical observation at GMCH.

After this incident, Jalukbari police has arrested one Rahul Baishya in connection with the murder case.

It is learned that all the other accused are currently absconding.
Notably, a similar incident took place earlier in the month of March where a miscreant stabbed and seriously injured a youth in a physical assault case in Guwahati’s Kumarpara area.
The youth, identified as Darasun Ali (30), was allegedly stabbed in the stomach, causing him to bleed profusely.

The victim was immediately shifted to the Casualty Ward of Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) by Bharalumukh Police at around 8.18 pm in a critical condition.

A case was registered in Bharalumukh police station in connection with this incident.
