Amar Sangno Senior Arunachal journo praised by writer community

Itanagar: The state media fraternity under the aegis of Arunachal Press Club (APC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) on Thursday recommended senior journalist Amar Sangno for his continuous dedication and commitment. Selected for ‘State Gold Medal’ to promote freedom of press in the state.
Sangno, who is also the president of APUWJ, will be conferred with the prestigious medal during the State Day celebrations here on February 20.
Appreciating Sango’s dedicated journalistic work for the state’s journalistic community over the years, APC President Dodum Yangfo said young journalists should take inspiration from Sangno.

“Such recognition for a journalist is something that needs to be achieved. A journalist is recognized not only for his journalistic quality but also for the other activities he performs for the welfare of the media community. ,” Dodum said.
An emotional Sangano said in his interaction that the recognition given to him by the state government for his work has put more responsibility on his shoulders.

To achieve such recognition one must be dedicated and true to one’s profession. Besides, a journalist should always stick to ethics and practice it in true sense, Amar Sangno said, adding that this recognition could not be achieved without the support of working journalists of the state.
He presented his award in the name of the entire media community and hoped that more budding journalists will also receive this award in the future.
Sangno also highlighted that the biggest concern of any working journalist in the state is related to “job security”.
He said that journalism is weak in terms of life and job protection, but we need to be strong and continue our positive work.

APUWJ General Secretary Sonam Jelly, APC Vice President Bengia Ajum and APC General Secretary Damien Lepcha also congratulated Sangno for the well-deserved recognition and wished him all his future endeavours, especially in journalism. Wished for success in the field.
