Dhubri: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal said on February 21 that ‘Hindutva’ is the only agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He was speaking during a press conference at Bilasipara in Assam’s Dhubri district.
“Both BJP and RSS came with the agenda of Hindutva and it all started from then. For the 2024 elections, BJP has no agenda other than making India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ that people will vote for. However, those who do not agree with him will not vote because they have no other alternative,” he added.
Ajmal also criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and said that he is overconfident on many issues which is not good.
“On many issues, we see that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is too confident and that is not good. “Overconfidence is a very bad thing,” said Ajmal.
Ajmal also claimed that Delhi is supporting Sarma on many issues so one should not give the impression that she is nobody.
“There’s no one on it, it’s not. He has Delhi,” he added.
Further targeting the Assam Chief Minister, Ajmal said that since Sarma came to power, Muslims are disappearing in the state as they are targeting only one religion.
“The way they behave towards Muslims will cost them one day because the people of Assam do not want to be divided between Hindus and Muslims. At present 99 percent people in Assam are secular,” Ajmal warned the Assam chief minister.
In the last part of the press conference, he also targeted Congress leader Bhupen Bora and called him a cheap politician besides challenging him to contest from Dhubri.
“I never challenged Bhupen Bora but now I am challenging him that if you have the guts, come and fight with me from Dhubri.” We are not cheap politicians like Bhupen Bora. They are doing cheap politics and we cannot go to that level,” he added.
