
Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, miscreants attack on Assam Rifles team
Guwahati: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024, Armed miscreants attacked a patrolling team of Assam Rifles in Assam’s Tinsukia on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at Namdang in Tinsukia. Which is on Changlang Road in Margherita.
It is suspected that the NSCN freedom fighters attacked the Assam Rifles.
Tinsukia Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gaurav confirmed the development.
“Our police team has already gone to find out what actually happened,” he said.
“Right now I cannot say anything about the incident as no concrete details are available,” he said.
“Militant groups have easily entered Indian territory through Arunachal Pradesh to carry out subversive activities. Arunachal Pradesh shares international borders with Myanmar and China. Militant groups have taken advantage of the rough terrain to infiltrate into India. ,” said a police official.
“Right now we cannot ascertain whether the attack was carried out by miscreants,” he said. After proper investigation, we can confirm about the group involved in the attack on the vehicle of Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, a joint operation has been launched in Tinsukia and its adjoining areas.
