Against NSCN (K) threats several orgs stand in solidarity with AYO
KOHIMA: Several organizations have, standing in solidarity with the Angami Youth Organization (AYO), condemned a recent incident, in which death penalty was threatened to one Kezhaleo Rülho, proprietor KKB Rülho, by the NSCN (K) Khango group.
ASU, in a press release, condemned the ‘cowardness by the so called Nation- worker’, and stated that Nagas are fighting our way towards peace, harmony and progress, and amidst such uncalled threatening of life towards a reputed contractor, a God fearing man and a cheerful social figure shall never be accepted in a civilized society.
Meanwhile, CYF, in its press release, condemned the incident stating that ‘it shall never tolerate such foreign threats that impugns the very fabric of our culture.’
‘The formation of CYF was necessitated in 1995 to protect our community leaders against the capital punishment which was ordered on a number of our prominent leaders at the time, and the assassination of nationalist leader, late General Povezo Soho. As such, the CYF shall never remain a mute spectator to threats that hampers peace in our society’, the press release stated.
The union further expressed distress over how at a juncture when the Nagas need to be showing solidarity to one another, ultimatums spawned from greed continue to expose how hollow our national movement has become.
In another press release, the RSZ, expressed distress and condemnation over the incident and stated that ‘such acts of intimidation and violence have no place in our society and it undermines the unity and peace that the Nagas strive and long to achieve’.
The union reiterated their support for the principle of One Government – One Taxation, as a crucial step towards achieving lasting peace and unity among the Naga people. ‘At this critical juncture, when solidarity and mutual support are paramount, it is imperative that we discourage any form of ultimatums or divisive actions that threaten our communal harmony’, the press release stated.
The NASU, CYF, and RSZ, applauded the AYO for its courageous stance, and urged every right thinking citizens to stand by their decision, so that we can overcome such menace in our society.
Similar condemnations were also issued by the Bayavu Youth Organisation, ZLSU, KLYO, and the NAYSA-C.
