Kohima: The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has declared its support for the upcoming public rally organized by the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) in Kohima on August 6.
The rally, set to take place at Old MLA Hostel junction, is a protest against “unabated taxations, harassment, intimidation and death threats” directed at ordinary citizens. In a statement issued by DCCI President Akashe Zhimomi, the organization emphasized its long-standing commitment to opposing illegal taxation and the harassment of the public, particularly the business community.
The DCCI has been actively engaged in combating these issues, which they say disrupt the peace and harmony of society. The DCCI also made a renewed appeal to various groups and organizations to listen to the concerns of the public and cease all forms of illegal taxation and activities that threaten societal stability.
The Chamber reiterated its dedication to protecting the interests of the business community and the wider public from such unlawful practices.
