
Against illegal coal transport, FIR registered in West khasi hills
Shillong: The secretary and president of the Aradonga Dorbar Centre in West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya have filed an FIR against the alleged illegal movement of coal.
They claimed the trucks were overloaded, lacked proper challans (permits), and were damaging an under-construction road.
The FIR, filed with the Aradonga Police Station states that the coal trucks travel from Riangdo, Meghalaya, to Boko, Assam, without proper documentation.
The complainants further stated that this illegal transportation is causing financial loss to the state and damaging infrastructure.
They requested an immediate investigation and a halt to the alleged illegal transportation.
“We are coordinating with the transport and DMR offices to investigate the allegations”, a police official said regarding the investigation.
