More than 4,000 people from the Kuki-Zo community participated in the protest which was organized under the auspices of the Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal District (KIT).Kaikholal Haokip KIT spokesman, said the Kuki-Zo community in Tengnoupal district would oppose any move to resettle the Meiteis in Moreh town without a political solution. All Meiteis involved in security, police and civil administration in Tengnoupal district should leave the district as soon as possible.

“The resettlement plan of Meiteis in Tengnopol district and Mora town and the appointment of Meiteis government officials in the district is a hidden plan of N. Biren Singh to subjugate and eliminate the local Kuki-Zo community. And will oppose evil intent tooth and nail,” Haokip said.
“Political solution has to come first and resettlement of Meiteis whatever comes later,” he added.
