Moreh: Today, a sit-in was held in Moreh town against the evil policy and deployment of police officers in Kuki Zo-inhabited areas. The dharna was held at Galngam Lentoul Moreh in Tengnoupal district of Manipur. More than 4,000 people from the Kuki-Zo community participated in the protest which was organized under the auspices of the Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal District (KIT).Kaikholal Haokip KIT spokesman, said the Kuki-Zo community in Tengnoupal district would oppose any move to resettle the Meiteis in Moreh town without a political solution. All Meiteis involved in security, police and civil administration in Tengnoupal district should leave the district as soon as possible.
He also said that the local Kuki-Zo community in Tangnopal district would oppose any attempt to resettle the Meiteis in Moreh town and the appointment of Meiteis government officials in Tengnoupall district without a political solution from the central government.
“The resettlement plan of Meiteis in Tengnopol district and Mora town and the appointment of Meiteis government officials in the district is a hidden plan of N. Biren Singh to subjugate and eliminate the local Kuki-Zo community. And will oppose evil intent tooth and nail,” Haokip said.
“Political solution has to come first and resettlement of Meiteis whatever comes later,” he added.
